BEBE SIGNS FOR BESIKTAS



Tiago Dias Manuel Correia, more popularly known as Bebe has been signed by Turkish side Besiktas on a season long loan.
At the start of last season the 21 year old Portuguese forward cost Manchester United 9 million euros after he transferred from Portuguese side Vitoria Guimares signing a five-year contract. A year into this contract Bebe has now been sent out on loan to gain some experience.
During his time so far at Manchester United, Bebe has made 7 appearances in total, 3 of which were starts scoring 2 senior goals, including 1 in the champions league against the 2010 Turkish champions Bursaspor.
There are currently 4 other Portuguese speaking players at Besiktas and so with Bebe playing alongside players of the same nationality, it will help him to bed into their first team to get the vital experience of playing professional football at a high level. The current Portuguese contingent include Ricardo Quaresma, Simao, Manuel Fernandes and Hugo Almeida, the former two of whom he will have to displace to get a regular spot in the Besiktas side.
The loan deal is thought to be with a view to buy Bebe as it is believed that Manchester United asked for 2.5 million euros for a permanent transfer.
